We gave birth to twin babies July 18, 2007 only to discover a couple of months later that Nicholas had a fatal genetic disease called spinal muscular atrophy. He passed away November 27, 2007 and a week later his twin sister Olivia was diagnosed with the same disease. She passed away January 12, 2008. This is a memoir of their lives, as well as a place to share my journey through everything that has happened.

Happy Birthday Nicholas & Olivia!
One year ago, our lives changed forever, and we're the better for it.

I had heard about the loss of your twins Nicholas and Olivia and then started reading your blog through Misty's (I go to church with Misty). I wanted you and your family to know that I'm thinking about and praying for you all today and have shed some tears for you as well (and other days too). I have never lost a child and can't relate to it at all, but I have still gotten so much out of your blog. I have a four year old daughter and a six month old son. My little boy was born just before you lost your sweet Olivia. As I've watch him grow and thought about the stages your cuties were at when you lost them I can't image what you have gone through and I have thought of you often. To see how God has worked it your life has been amazing and encouraging to me. No matter what people are going through in life, it's a reminder that we are never alone. I have been reminded to enjoy ever moment I have with my children and to never take anything for granted. So please know that your beautiful little Nicholas and Oliva have touched not only the lives of your family and friends, but of many who never even knew them (in person that is). So, thank you for having the courage to be an open book and sharing your experience and for allowing me to meet your three beautiful children Sabrina, Nicholas and Oliva. Nicholas and Oliva have touched many lives in their short time on earth and will never be forgotten. Take Care.
Happy Birthday precious babies! I have been thinking of you guys all week and wondering how they are celebrating their first birthday with the man above. I'm sure they are having a blast. I'm thinking of your family always.
